Exercise...how we all love to hate it, or at least I do. My dirty little secret is finding something that I enjoy doing. At frist, I tried hanging out at the bar and actively drinking red wine...but I found out that my muffin top loved that too much. So much, it started to grow! So, I decided to try a few things that worked more than my elbow and liver. After my first class of yoga, I knew I found something that would be a part of my life forever. It worked muscles I didn't know I had, but it was calming at the same time. At the time, I was going to Graduate school, working a full time professional job and had a dependant boyfriend, so a little bit of calm was VASTLY appreciated! Recently, I found Mountain Biking. Like Yoga, I know it will always be a part of my life. Unlike yoga, it's not calm. There is an euphoria when your zooming down a trail with trees threating to hit you at every turn, but it's the abilty to accomplish something new EVERY time you go for a ride. Talk about a confidence booster! So what do you like to do that is active?

Whatever I'm doing has to keep me interested too. I do a few different things...I walk/run, I do ballet or jazz (not right now...but in the past, that's what I've done for a workout), I workout in my livingroom to a DVD (Jillian right now), and as y'all know, I've taken up roller skating again....
When I focus and my willpower is strong, I'm able to get fit typically very fast. So long as I'm not eating like a hippo in heat....

I hate exercising so much it hurts me. But I love, Love, LOVE me some Yoga. So much so, that I always seem to find time to do it (that's what she said). I can see that my body is changing, I have more muscle tone, a lot less flab, and I can actually feel my abs under my jelly rolls.
Yoga = magical
The other crazy thing is that as much as I dislike doing exercise, if I can find a good 10 minute work out on demand, it'll make me want to do another good 10 minute work out, and then another one. There's a good crunchless abs one by Jennifer Garaldi, and some pilates ones that I like too.

No a big fan of the exercise. I used to have a treadmill and I liked that, gave it away when I moved....wish I could get it back. So for now riding my road bike is my exercise, however it is really hard to ride 20 miles without stopping for a cold adult bev! I've been trying to keep the party riding limited to the weekends. I've really have come to enjoy biking to work, 24 miles round trip, so 403 miles for 2009!
Since I am pretty slow the pounds are not exactly flying off, but mentally I feel like a million bucks after riding first thing in the morning! That's why I love the Slow Bicycle Movement, motto...'We'll get there, eventually!"
